Erika and Chase’s spring wedding at Lake Austin Spa Resort felt like something out of a movie. From the intimate ceremony and a just-wed spin around the lake to slow dancing on the dock under the stars, this day left plenty of room to breathe, connect, and simply be present.
Because feeling relaxed and in the moment mattered so much to Erika and Chase, they chose my documentary-style wedding photography to reflect that. I’m so honored they trusted me to capture the candid moments of their day, along with the playful portraits they envisioned!

Erika and Chase embarked on their wedding planning journey with a vision for an intimate celebration. They wanted to create an incredible experience for the people they loved most, and Lake Austin Spa Resort felt like the perfect place to do it.
As a wellness hotel perched on the shores of Lake Austin, the resort already has everything needed for an unforgettable wedding weekend. Erika and Chase’s guests stayed in the resort’s charming private cottages, with spa amenities, water activities, and wellness classes just steps away.
Despite being a resort, Lake Austin Spa Resort still feels wonderfully intimate. I loved that Erika and Chase could serve dinner to all their guests on the dock, in an area that felt tucked away from the rest of the resort. The combination of privacy and sunset views over the lake was truly magical.
The ceremony location was equally memorable. With a vaulted ceiling, coastal decor, and lake views, the brightly lit living room perfectly framed Erika and Chase’s vows.

You know how some couples go their entire wedding day without ever having time for a private conversation? Erika and Chase were determined to do the opposite. They created their timeline with intention, carving out space and time for connection throughout the day.
Their private first look wasn’t fussy or overly posed. After getting ready with her mom and sister, Erika simply walked back to their room to see Chase. Then, during the post-ceremony group boat ride, the newlyweds retreated to the boat’s upper level to relax while their guests enjoyed the water and fresh air below.
But the sweetest moment came toward the end of the night. Erika and Chase stepped away from the reception to look at the stars. Then, with a little nudge from me, they started dancing—and those became some of my favorite images from the entire day.
The best moments are usually candid, but sometimes a smidge of direction from your photographer can lead to something magical!
I left shortly after that moment on the dock, and my heart felt so full as the whole wedding group thanked me and waved goodbye. It felt like I’d just left a gathering of old friends, which is why I love intimate weddings the most. Those celebrations really are about relationships, old and new, and the love that carries us through life.

Are you planning an intimate wedding in Austin? It would truly be my privilege to capture it. Whether you’re envisioning a relaxing stay with loved ones at Lake Austin Spa Resort or an elopement in the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden, you deserve to have this occasion—and your love—captured beautifully.
