Colorful Modern Wedding at Prospect House

Dayna and Will hosted their colorful modern wedding at Prospect House in Austin, Texas. The celebration was stylish and laidback, but most of all, FUN! They planned everything from afar, living in New York City, with the help of Emily at Bird Dog Wedding. While Dayna works in advertising there, she’s originally from Austin and wanted her wedding to have all the Texas vibes. Everything fell perfectly in place when she discovered her dream venue, Prospect House, in her hometown!

Modern Wedding at Prospect House

Prospect House is a clean, modern wedding venue brimming with natural light. Because it’s a “blank slate” inside, it allows every couple’s unique vision to take center stage. It also overlooks the serene Texas Hill Country, seamlessly combining modern style with Texas charm. I love shooting there, so I couldn’t wait to return for Dayna and Will’s wedding day!

Dayna and Will went all in with a colorful modern theme, blending vibrant shades of marigold, tangerine, and cobalt blue with clean lines, geometric shapes, and minimalist fonts. Austin’s finest helped them bring their vision to life, including the queen of color, Bird Dog Wedding! She helped them design a cohesive wedding day incorporating every color on the spectrum. The couple also partnered with Mountain Laurel Floral, who created one of my favorite bridal bouquets to date! The arrangement had an organic feel and featured zinnias, dahlias, and garden roses in shades of peach, coral, and flamingo pink.

Reception with Texas Flair

Dayna and Will wanted to emphasize fun with their loved ones for their reception at Prospect House. They also wanted to embrace Dayna’s Texas roots! So, they decided to host a Tex-Mex-style barbecue dinner, complete with custom bibs designed by a friend. The same friend also dreamed up designs for their custom shot glasses and colorful invitation suite! 

Meanwhile, Dayna and Will’s dessert table also nodded to the location with Texas-themed pastries. The couple danced the night away with their loved ones between bites to eat, wearing tasseled cowboy hats! I had a blast capturing every moment, from the toasts to the sparkler sendoff. It was a quintessentially Austin celebration!
