Christine and Josh’s wedding at South Congress Hotel was vibrant, color-infused, and effortlessly cool. They made sure that the entire day felt true to them, which is something that I value in all of my couples! Traditions have their place, but there’s just something special about a wedding day that allows the bride and groom’s tastes and style to shine.

Eclectic Details for a South Congress Hotel Wedding

Special touches that reflected Christine and Josh’s artistic and vintage style were sprinkled all throughout their day. I loved the custom art that their favorite artist, Donald Robertson, created for their invitations. In addition, a custom neon sign with their newly shared last name hung from their ceremony arch and above their sweetheart table. The balance of tradition and unique details made the day so much fun!

The venue that the couple chose, South Congress Hotel, reflected that balance as well. It is a quirky and modern hotel in Austin, which suited the eclectic vibe of Christine and Josh’s day perfectly. Josh is a chef, so the food at the wedding was important to them, and South Congress Hotel never disappoints! The hotel also provided the couple’s cake and other reception desserts. I love that this venue truly conquers every aspect of a wedding day so well.

Christine selected both a ceremony dress and a reception dress, which really brought home the day’s emphasis on style. Her vibe was total “anti-bride,” favoring effortless and cool style over lots of frills. However, she added the perfect pinch of tradition to her look by topping it off with a veil. Josh, meanwhile, wore a custom-made cream suit with a vintage feel.

It was such a pleasure to work with Christine and Josh to capture their wedding at South Congress Hotel.
