Laidback and Eclectic Winter Wedding at South Congress Hotel

Michelle and Brock’s winter wedding at South Congress Hotel had so many unique touches. They stayed true to themselves and the result was the most fun and eclectic wedding day, complete with donuts, video games, and a life-size game of Connect 4!

These two met while working at a coffee shop in the midwest. A few years back they relocated to Austin, and have since made it their home! They’re my kind of people through and through: easy to hang out with, down to earth, and most importantly, kind. They’re also very intentional and brought that attitude to their wedding day from start to finish! As a result, their day felt truly authentic.

Something Blue for the Modern Bride

I loved that Michelle ditched the traditional white dress for a stunning blue-gray number with a pearl-studded top and a ruffled skirt. She paired it with a gold heart locket, a pearl headband, and loose curls for a look that would be at home on the front cover of any modern bridal magazine. Her bouquet provided by Blumen Floral Co. was also a lovely finishing touch! Filled with white anemones and daffodils set off by deep green branches, it was a nod to the winter season without being cliché.

Winter Wedding at South Congress Hotel

Michelle and Brock couldn’t have chosen a more fitting setting than the South Congress Hotel for their wedding day. They knew that they didn’t want a big dance party but rather wanted to relax and connect with their people. So, they hired the incomparable Alex of XO Moreau Events to plan a laidback soiree in the hotel’s stylish event space. While there was plenty of room for all, the celebration felt intimate—and placed an emphasis on FUN. Alex not only brought in a milkshake and french fry truck but also several vintage arcade games! In addition, the venue provided trays of donuts and a jazz band that set the perfect tone for the event. I love when couples prioritize their guests’ experiences with unique touches that fit their personalities. So, naturally, I loved every bit of this day!
