Intimate Wedding at Laguna Gloria and Austin Proper Hotel

Alfire and Austin always knew they wanted a small wedding. They didn’t want all the hype surrounding a traditional wedding—they just wanted to be married! So, they planned this incredible, intimate wedding day at Laguna Gloria and Austin Proper Hotel.

The day was ripe with warmth and soul throughout. Alfire admitted to me that Austin originally wasn’t keen on the idea of hiring a wedding photographer at all. They just wanted the day to feel relaxed without the pressure of posing for hundreds of photos. Halfway through the day, she grabbed me and told me Austin couldn’t stop saying how thrilled he was that I was there to capture everything. I loved hearing that!

A Vintage Meets Modern Bridal Look

I was so in love with Alfire’s wedding dress and veil by Kamperett! She had the best style. She wore their vintage-inspired Meiere Gown in ivory layered with the silk Long Slip for a modern touch. The puffed, architectural sleeves and floaty hemline paired perfectly with the simple organza veil that flowed behind her as she walked. Meanwhile, her bouquet of ivory garden roses and lisianthus by Earl Grey Floral was a beautiful finishing touch to her ethereal, cool-girl look.

Wedding at Laguna Gloria and Austin Proper Hotel

Alfire and Austin carefully curated a guest list of their closest family and friends to attend their intimate Austin wedding. The day began with an outdoor ceremony at the incomparable Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria. The November weather was gorgeous, and the couple’s guests looked on with misty eyes as they exchanged their vows inside the beautiful Temple of Love.

The celebration continued with a cocktail hour at Austin Proper Hotel, complete with a spirited dance party inside the stylish and intimate Goldie’s Bar. For the couple’s photo gallery, I felt that these locations complemented each other so well! The eclectic and earthy tones of the décor at Austin Proper Hotel meshed so beautifully with the lush and organic aesthetic of Laguna Gloria.

Finally, the day concluded with a candlelit dinner at Hotel Van Zandt’s in-house restaurant, Geraldine’s. The couple cut into their ‘Just Married’ cake and shared an evening of laughter, story-swapping, and intimate conversation with their loved ones. It was the perfect ending to this lowkey wedding day in Austin!
