Lexi and Tyler first contacted me in 2023 to photograph their family in their current home base of Austin. They travel frequently due to Tyler’s NFL career, but Austin is their home, so capturing portraits here when they’re back in town is important to them. Lexi’s biggest priority has always been candid, fun, and silly photos of their family. I loved capturing their crew last year at Lady Bird Lake. So, I couldn’t wait for this year’s session at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center!

Austin Family Session at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Lexi suggested shooting at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center when planning this year’s session. The idea spurred from her family’s love of spending mornings with the kiddos and watching the dinosaurs on display all over the grounds. The kids love growling at the dinosaurs and exploring the serene garden space’s flowers, mazes, pathways, and waterfalls! It’s a place that truly feels like home. So, it was a no-brainer to me that this idea was a winner!

We booked the earliest available session (a photography fee is required to shoot at the Wildflower Center) since it was June and we knew the morning would heat up fast. Upon arriving, we checked in and received our photography pass. Because of the early hour, it was quiet and we had the space to ourselves! If you plan a family session here, I recommend booking a weekday morning through the venue like the Krofts did for the best results.

Exploring the Wildflower Center’s grounds with the Krofts was a blast. Everything was magical through the kids’ eyes! I hung back, letting them explore as they usually would and capturing organic imagery that showcased the sweet dynamic between Lexi, Tyler, and their two kiddos.
