Outdoor Family Photography Session at the Mueller Lake Park in Austin, Texas

Carly found me on Instagram while she was looking for an Austin family photographer to take her family’s yearly photos! This year, she wanted something that felt laid-back and natural. When we were discussing their session, Carly and Logan said that candid photos were their biggest priority. They wanted to be barefoot, play, and have photos that felt authentic to them. So I suggested one of my all-time favorite places for family photos: Mueller Lake Park!

Natural Family Photos at Mueller Lake Park

Carly and Logan booked a Small Session, which I offer every fall. These sessions are 40 minutes long, designed to capture beautiful moments of you and your family in this season of life. I hosted this year’s Small Sessions at Mueller Lake Park because I love the texture of the landscape there. The lighting is perfect, there’s a nice mixture of water and trees as a backdrop, and it gives kids plenty of room to roam around!

When they received their album, Carly said, “Holy cow!!!!!! Logan and I are both floored by one, how great these photos are, and two, how many you were able to capture from that chaotic morning!!!! There are sooo many goodies. We are in love!!!”

Unbeknownst to us at the time, both kids had the beginnings of a cold and ear infection the morning of the shoot! It was a challenge to capture joyful photos while battling grumpy kids, snotty noses, and tired little legs, but we got some beautiful photos that capture the love and joy in their family!
