Introducing…Psychedelic Film Sessions in Austin!

As an Austin family photographer and creative at heart, I love experimenting with new mediums. That’s why I’m so pleased to start offering psychedelic film sessions! I’ve designed these sessions to be one hour of play in the sunshine with those you love most. I’ll step back to allow your family’s personality to shine through, capturing it all on 35mm film. Who Should Book a Psychedelic Film Session?

Psychedelic film sessions are for free-spirited folks who love color, fun, and whimsy. They’re perfect for couples, families, or friends who crave adventure! I’ll provide some direction at the start of the session, but my goal is always to step back once you’ve settled in. That way, I can capture the authentic, unguarded moments that reveal the soul of your relationships.

This session is also meant for vintage lovers! Psychedelic film images ooze with retro colors and artistic flair. Picture the shoebox of old photographs in the attic at your parents’ house, or an Andy Warhol painting. Opening your gallery will feel like taking a step back in time, to a simpler era defined by lazy summer afternoons and authentic human connection. These images look fantastic blown up and hung on the wall, so be sure to print them—reach out if you need styling advice!

When and Where Will We Shoot? 

My psychedelic film sessions can take place in any outdoor location within ten miles of Downtown Austin, but I prefer to use an open field or a body of water like Barton Springs. You’ll want plenty of space to frolic and play! What makes these sessions different from most is timing. A bright, sunny day is key to achieving images with the most saturated color possible, so we’ll shoot at midday instead of golden hour. If your session happens to land on a cloudy day, we’ll reschedule.

Can I Add a Psychedelic Film Session to my Subscription? 

Yes! If you have The Family Subscription, we can absolutely shoot one of your sessions on psychedelic film. An additional $300 will cover the film expenses. Alternatively, if you don’t have a subscription, you can book a stand-alone, one-hour session.
