Intimate Outdoor Wedding in Aspen at Dallenbach Ranch

Taylor and Dylan dreamed up the loveliest, down-to-earth outdoor wedding on the Frying Pan River just outside Aspen, Colorado. They chose the breathtaking Dallenbach Ranch for their venue and invited 50 of their closest friends and family to the intimate celebration. Loved ones flew in from all over the country to celebrate, including their friends from UT Law and families from North Carolina and Texas.

When I say I was grinning from ear to ear all day and night as I captured this wedding, I’m not exaggerating. I loved these clients and their vision. They allowed the day to unfold naturally and had carefree attitudes about everything. It was the kind of celebration you never want to end—looking up at the stars shining down on us, it felt like a scene from a movie! I’m thrilled to be sharing some of the highlights.

Outdoor Wedding at Dallenbach Ranch

I loved the down-to-earth aesthetic of Taylor and Dylan’s Dallenbach Ranch wedding. Their ceremony and reception occurred on the riverbank, overlooking the picturesque red rocks and pine forest. They opted for minimal décor to allow the natural surroundings to shine and focused on organic textures. A birch wood arch framed the couple as they exchanged vows beside a grounded arrangement of wildflowers and pampas grass. Meanwhile, Taylor carried a coordinating bouquet filled with daisies, yellow cosmos, and white dahlias.

The laidback, naturalistic vibe carried into the couple’s reception. Taylor kicked off her heels, Dylan took off his jacket, and they danced underneath the stars with their guests as Blue River Grass played. They didn’t leave all the singing to the professionals, though—there was also a late-night karaoke moment! Fresh, local cuisine catered by Free Range Kitchen and a steady flow of drinks from the cutest mobile bar kept the party fueled.

Documentary-Style Wedding Photography

I had a blast exploring the grounds of Dallenbach Ranch with Taylor and Dylan for their bridal portraits. The couple wanted lowkey, unposed photos (my favorite!), so I followed them as they ran, danced, and twirled down the dirt roads and through wildflower fields. Every image is so dynamic and full of movement—I’m obsessed! However, the post-ceremony portraits might be my favorite. The rosy, golden light falling through the trees is the stuff of every photographer’s dreams.

All I can say is, wow. I’m beyond grateful Taylor and Dylan chose me to capture their wedding at Dallenbach Ranch! Their carefree approach resonated with me and gave me plenty of space to create.
