Madeline and Casey are a college love story and an effortlessly cool, chic, and classic couple. After years of growing through life together and moving to Dallas, they were ready to get married and celebrate with their family and friends! They wanted a fun atmosphere for their wedding, and after touring South Congress Hotel, they knew it was the one.
This hotel is right on South Congress Street and in the middle of Austin. It has a modern feel, with a little art-deco decor and lots of personality. As they worked together to plan this day, one thing was for sure – it was all about their family and friends. After spending eight years together, there were so many people they wanted to celebrate with!
Their morning kicked off getting ready in the hotel, where the ladies had a suite that overlooked the pool. The guy spent the morning at the pool having some drinks before heading inside to get ready themselves. Madeline was a breathtaking bride in her gorgeous crepe gown. She chose a clean and streamlined sheath gown that had lace detail on the train. Her silver heels added in a little bit of sparkle. Her bridesmaids wore dresses in floral patterns, dusty blue, and blush to add a little bit of summer color.
One of my favorite parts of this wedding was the beautiful and sustainable flowers by Persephone Floral Design. They worked with 36th Street Events and the couple to design seasonal and chic flowers. Davis Austin roses, wildflowers, ranunculus, anemones, and greenery all tied in together, from the bouquets to the reception.
Whenever my couples get married on South Congress St., I make sure we sneak away for some portraits walking along the streets. There are such fun buildings closely, and the city skyline paints the sky behind. It leads to candid portraits, which are always some of my favorites. As an Austin wedding photographer, I know all the little spots we can go to for some fun pictures.
As the night went on, the couple danced in the twinkling glow of candlelight and the sounds of their favorite music. It was a stunning event, with an even better couple. I would love to hear your love story, and document it all!
