Frannie and August’s wedding at Prospect House was one of the coolest events I’ve been a part of in Austin! As recent transplants to the city, they knew that it would be the perfect place to bring all of their loved ones together to celebrate their nuptials. And they pulled out all the stops to make their wedding unique to their love story and their new life in Texas. Take that and add an excellent team of vendors to the mix and you’ve got wedding bliss!
Fran comes from a family of creatives who are well known in the fashion industry. A fashion model herself, she wanted her wedding day look to be one-of-a-kind, and her talented family members were more than happy to make that happen! Her aunt, designer Clare V, made her bridal purse of creamy white leather with fringe detail and a golden clasp. Her sister, who is a designer with Ulla Johnson, made her gorgeous pearl-studded veil.
In addition, Frannie’s brother, Padraic Gilligan, is a stationery designer who made the couple’s custom stationery suite! He also designed and handmade the couple’s day-of paper goods and cowboy hat wedding logo. The dance party portion of their reception featured the logo as an incredible white neon sign. It was amazing to see such a talented family come together to make Frannie and August’s day truly special!
I was in love with the color combinations featured throughout this day, especially with the florals by Davy Gray! They created an amazing wall at the reception with hanging garlands of florals and dried citrus fruit, featuring juicy shades of coral, tangerine, and marigold. Loot and Table Manners also contributed their creativity to the tablescapes. An array of decor items topped each table, including colorful taper candles, clear and olive-tinted glass tumblers, and rattan chargers. Most amazingly of all, oversized arrangements of sunshine yellow florals by Davy Gray hung from the ceiling!
The feast for the senses continued with the menu of vibrant Latin-inspired dishes from La Pera. Later on, everyone hit the dance floor to the sounds of DJ Cassandra with Dart Collective! If you can imagine the best dance party you’ve ever been to, this was it. I honestly didn’t want the night to end!
Needless to say, I had a blast documenting Frannie and August’s wedding day at Prospect House. I capture soulful, authentic images of couples as they love each other and their people on the best day of their lives. If you think we’d be a good fit, message me for fall 2022 and spring 2023 bookings!
