Austin Newborn Session at Hotel Saint Cecilia

I’m obsessed with this adorable newborn session at Hotel Saint Cecilia! When Casandra and Horacio reached out to me many moons ago to shoot their COVID-era elopement at this chic Austin venue, I was elated. I love their space and concept! They had planned a larger wedding in their hometown on the South Texas border but ultimately decided to scratch those plans and do something just for the two of them. It felt right, and Saint Cecilia was the perfect choice that reflected their style and ethos.

Fast forward nearly four years later, and Casandra and Horacio welcomed their first child, Theo! They reached out and asked about meeting up at Hotel Saint Cecilia again, this time with the baby in tow (um, yes, please!). We strolled the grounds where their intimate elopement took place and stood in the same spots we stood in four years ago. We reminisced and laughed, remembering how special that day felt. Meanwhile, little Theo patiently let us walk around the property while also getting plenty of breaks for feedings. 

I plan for two hours for newborn sessions like this one. It’s important not to feel rushed and to allow the baby to dictate how everything unfolds versus us. As a documentary film and digital family photographer, I incorporate plenty of instant photos and 35 mm film in addition to digital shots. I love offering my client a variety of photography formats to reflect their story! 

It was so good to catch up with Casandra and Horacio during their newborn session at Hotel Saint Cecilia! I love that they chose a unique location that was meaningful to them.
