Alex and Sarah’s spring wedding at Justine’s Secret House was the culmination of a years-long love story and the beginning of a beautiful new chapter. The couple met at summer camp when they were seventeen and fell head over heels. Alex even read a journal entry he wrote the day he met Sarah during their wedding ceremony! There wasn’t a single dry eye on the patio at Justine’s.
With happy tears throughout and plenty of silliness, this wedding day unfolded organically, just how Alex and Sarah envisioned. Being there to capture all of it was a true honor!
Alex and Sarah wanted their wedding day to be full of fun experiences for their small number of guests. Their planner, Eclipse Event Co., took their vision and knocked it out of the park! The celebration utilized the whole space at Justine’s Secret House to create an intimate yet open environment where guests could wander from one area to the next.
From the incredible dinner by Justine’s Brasserie to the dessert food truck serving mini donuts, it was a foodie’s paradise. During the reception, guests could participate in the epic dance party by Bat City Beats or head outside to the peaceful patio illuminated by bistro lights to chat and play lawn games. To add to the fun, the bride and groom broke a moon-shaped piñata in honor of the approaching solar eclipse (so cute, right?!).
Alex and Sarah chose to add film to their wedding photography package, and I’m so glad they did! These images are always among my favorites in my client’s galleries because of their timeless feel. And with the Victorian-inspired décor at Justine’s, it was the perfect venue to lean into the nostalgia of film photography.
I shot a few portraits of Alex and Sarah onsite at Justine’s following their first look. The dining room’s dramatic red walls are always one of my go-to backdrops when shooting there! Then, after their ceremony, we took to the streets to capture more portraits featuring Austin in all its glory. The couple had the idea to head to Cute Nail Studio’s Downtown location, and WOW, do I love how those images turned out! The building’s brightly colored rainbow stripes give off the coolest vibe and reflect Alex and Sarah’s fun-loving personalities.
Photographing this spring wedding at Justine’s Secret House was a true pleasure! I loved getting to know Alex and Sarah and can’t wait to see where their next chapter leads them. If you’re seeking an Austin wedding photographer to document your celebration, reach out. I would love to connect and share more about my offerings and process!
Amber, you captured our day BEAUTIFULLY. I love the film photos, I love the high-res photos, I love the black and white photos. Genuine moments of human expression and beautiful color, proportions, and framing. You’re an expert at your craft!
We’ve been treasuring them just scrolling over and over and will get to do so for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into our wedding album.
