As an Austin wedding photographer, I love seeing couples create a wedding that feels true to themselves, and that’s exactly what Rikki and Collin did! They invited only friends to this party, planning a smaller family gathering for the next weekend. They took this opportunity to create a truly one-of-a-kind experience for their guests, and I was so honored to capture it!

Rikki and Collin met at a Superbowl party and quickly fell in love. They had a very clear vision for their wedding day and booked me after our initial chat nearly a year before their wedding day. They chose my 8-hour collection and wanted to focus primarily on candid photos and ensure I shot film throughout the whole day. Luckily, all of my wedding photography packages now include film! I loved that they knew exactly what they wanted and were so willing to go against the grain of a “traditional” wedding. Thanks to Gina at WhitRoss, Rikki and Collin’s sexy, Lana Del Rey-inspired party came together flawlessly.

An Experience-Driven Wedding At Fair Market

Everything about this wedding was creative, out-of-the-box, and true to Rikki and Collin. Their wedding ceremony was bathed in red lights with red flowers and black candles, creating a moody, gothic-like feel. Transplant Florals captured that Lana Del Rey ambiance in the floral design.

Instead of having a traditional dinner service, Rikki and Collin filled their reception with one-of-a-kind experiences for their guests. They hired a burlesque dancer, had a tattoo artist on site, a live painter, a taco truck, cigar rolling, tarot card readings, and, of course, a DJ! They even had late night McDonald’s and pizza. Once the reception died down, a second-line band led the guests to White Horse, a quintessentially Austin bar.
