Colorful Wedding at The Addison Grove

As a wedding photographer, I get to hear a lot of love stories. All of them are special, but something about Nicole and Kelly’s story melted my heart. Nicole and Kelly met when they were just four years old. They grew up together, and only realized their deeper love for each other once they were in college! After hearing their love story, I was even more excited to photograph their wedding at The Addison Grove in the Texas Hill Country. The brides requested a very natural, documentary style for their wedding photography. I created a custom package for them, including a second photographer and a film addition!

Getting Ready & Ceremony at The Addison Grove

Nicole and Kelly chose to get ready together in The Addison Grove preparation cottage. I thought this made their morning flow so smoothly and allowed us to get some wonderful photos of them getting ready with their families, dressing in their gowns, and their first look! And, of course, this allowed their two dogs to get lots of attention before the ceremony.

Their ceremony beneath the oak trees was full of love and laughter. They chose to get married at The Addison Grove to encapsulate the Texas experience for their out-of-town guests. With the beautiful architecture, wildflower fields, and Longhorn cattle, they couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue. The ceremony took place at the perfect time, allowing the sun to filter through the trees and bathe the flower-strewn altar in golden light.

Reception Dinner and Dance Party

After taking their bridal portraits around the grounds, Nicole and Kelly joined their guests for dinner and drinks! Their reception was filled with so many personal details. Nicole is an interior designer and truly worked her magic in creating a one-of-a-kind-environment. She designed and styled an event that felt true to their love. They even included a Chappell Roan vinyl as their guest book and brought cut-outs of their dogs to the dance party!

I had so much fun shooting this documentary-style wedding for Nicole and Kelly. The light was stunning, the joy was palpable, and the entire day felt straight out of a movie. I was so happy they took my advice to include a second shooter. Nicole and Kelly told me they wanted their wedding photography to capture the magic of the day, so that’s exactly what we did!
