Downtown Austin Wedding at Justine’s Secret House

Heather and Nick met as neighbors in New York City after Heather moved there from Austin. They began dating, and the rest is history! Now, years, later, they made their way to her hometown of Austin to tie the knot at one of the most unique venues in town: Justine’s Secret House.

Outdoor Reception at Justine’s Secret House

This venue is a true hidden gem, and I was so excited to photograph a wedding there! When you arrive you are greeted with a New Orleans-style courtyard, which then directs you to a Victorian home. The interior of the home is incredible, showcasing a mixture of classic Victorian details and art-deco furniture, including some gorgeous velvet lounge chairs. Heather and Nick chose to hold their reception in the outdoor patio space so that their guests could sit at long tables and dine al-fresco. Hand-picked blooms in shades of blush, burgundy, and cream lined the tables. Beside them, dozens of candles created a romantic evening glow.

Whimsical Ceremony at Vuka Bouldin Creek

Heather and Nick’s large wedding called for a ceremony location with more space, so they opted to exchange their vows at Vuka Bouldin Creek and transported their guests between there and Justine’s Secret House via an old school bus. Their ceremony at Vuka Bouldin Creek took place in the courtyard. The couple wanted their guests to enjoy the beautiful spring weather in Austin, so holding the day’s events outdoors was important! The courtyard space features large oak trees, which created the perfect backdrop for the couple’s vows. The scene was so whimsical and unique!

Heather wore a gown with a vintage cut bodice and playful touches of swiss dot and sparkle. Her long brown hair was softly curled, and a classic 50’s red lip completed her look. Both her gown and her overall appearance were perfectly suited to the inspiration for the day. She had old Hollywood glamour written all over her!
