Downtown Austin Wedding at the LINE Hotel
Emily and CJ met in a math class early in their college days at UT Austin. After a few years, a couple of cats, and two cross-country moves, they returned to the city where it all began to tie the knot at the LINE Hotel. I’m so glad I could be their wedding photographer!
The couple booked my eight-hour wedding collection, an engagement session, and a second shooter. I loved meeting them a year before their wedding to capture their love at one of their favorite places in Austin: Amy’s Ice Cream! Meeting each other and shooting an engagement session before your wedding day is always helpful. We know each other much better, so you feel more comfortable behind the camera.
Getting Married at the LINE Hotel in Austin
The LINE Hotel has quickly become one of my favorite Downtown Austin wedding venues, especially for a late spring or summer wedding when we need to beat the heat. I LOVED shooting there for Emily and CJ’s wedding and can’t wait for the next opportunity!
The hotel has many unique corners we can incorporate into your portraits, whether you want an airy or moody feel. In addition, natural light floods the main event space and makes it feel like you’re sitting in a tree house! With a modern and minimalistic design, there are countless ways to make the space your own. This Downtown Austin wedding venue is perfect for a couple who wants the all-inclusive hotel vibe without any of the usual stuffiness (just the opposite!).
Making Time for Digital and Film Bridal Portraits
Emily and CJ chose to begin their wedding day with a private first look in their hotel suite on the 12th floor. It was the perfect location because it was secluded, flooded with natural light, and full of art and unique furniture that made great backdrops. They wanted to prioritize their couple’s portraits, so we spent an hour roaming the LINE Hotel together. The couple added a roll of film to their package (an option for any of my couples!), so I sprinkled in film portraits here and there. It was easily my favorite part of their day!
We shot their wedding party photos before the ceremony and then completed their portraits with family photos afterward. I recommend this timeline for everyone using this venue; it was ideal. I loved that Emily and CJ built ample time for portraits into their day because we never felt rushed. Always budget more time than you think you need for photos! I promise you it’s worth it.
