If connecting with loved ones around the dinner table sounds more like your kind of wedding celebration than dancing the night away, you’ll love these Austin restaurants. Perfect for a micro wedding or elopement, these eateries offer the full package: gorgeous aesthetics and creative cuisine. As an Austin wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at all of them, and I’m thrilled to share them with you today! Let’s explore eight unique restaurant venues for an intimate Austin wedding.

Forever one of my favorite Austin wedding venues, Justine’s is a brasserie in East Austin set inside a Victorian home filled with artwork and antiques. The atmosphere is eclectic in the best way, paired with a menu of French classics that feels both elevated and inviting. It’s suitable for intimate and mid-size weddings alike, with a variety of spaces available for your celebration.
Asya and Nick said “I do” inside the house before sharing an intimate dinner with their loved ones, while Lauren and Matthew split their celebration between the courtyard and dining room.

With a scenic location in the West Lake Hills and modern Thai cuisine, Sway offers an unforgettable dining experience. The large communal tables foster the kind of connection couples often dream about when planning an intimate wedding celebration.
Host your event indoors and watch the chefs prepare dishes in the open kitchen, or gather on the patio and soak in the Hill Country views.

Moody lighting, cocktails, and tacos? Check, check, check.
Set in a sleek, architect-designed space in Downtown Austin, Comedor feels tailor-made for the modern couple. The soaring ceilings create an expansive atmosphere, while the modern Mexican fare delivers bold, creative flavors. There’s also a lush interior courtyard that makes a gorgeous setting for a small wedding ceremony or elopement.

Located inside the Carpenter Hotel, Carpenters Hall is ideal for couples seeking a full wedding experience in a single beautifully designed space. The hotel has become a favorite among Austin locals looking for a getaway without leaving the city. That appeal is enhanced by its midcentury charm, which pays homage to the original building’s 1948 construction.
For intimate weddings and elopements, it’s the kind of venue where you can settle in and fully enjoy the day. Get ready in one of the chic guest rooms, meet your lover for vows on the patio, then gather around the table for Mediterranean-meets-Southern cuisine.

An Auberge Resorts property in the heart of Austin, the Commodore Perry Estate isn’t just a place to get married. It’s an experience.
Stepping onto the grounds feels like leaving the city behind and arriving at a European villa. The on-site restaurant, Lutie’s, overlooks the gardens through floor-to-ceiling windows, while a greenery-covered ceiling brings the outdoors in. Every corner feels romantic, refined, and thoughtfully designed for celebration.

Nestled beneath sprawling oak branches and glowing lanterns, Lenoir’s wine garden is the kind of place where core memories are made. Inside, the historic Travis Heights bungalow blends vintage-chic decor with an undeniably romantic atmosphere.
Mara and Brandon came here after their courthouse elopement, and it was such a perfect fit for their celebration. They shared an intimate dinner in the wine garden with their parents and little one, enjoying Lenoir’s unexpected blend of Mediterranean and Indian flavors together.

Aba brings a garden oasis feel to South Congress, effortlessly blending style and convenience. The open-air seating, inspired by California living and Mediterranean summers, is layered with lush greenery, creating a fresh, inviting setting for welcome dinners and intimate receptions alike.
Sara and Spencer, who also eloped at the courthouse, hosted their reception here several days later, celebrating with their closest family and friends.

Housed inside the W Hotel, Serenade draws inspiration from French brasseries and classic Texas cuisine. Its Downtown location, blocks from Lady Bird Lake, makes it easy for both locals and out-of-town guests to access.
With sophisticated interiors and a striking cowhide accent wall, it recently served as the setting for a styled shoot I had the honor of photographing, designed by Bird Dog Wedding.

Whether you’re envisioning a candlelit dinner with your closest people or a stylish restaurant reception after saying your vows at the courthouse, Austin has no shortage of beautiful places to celebrate in a way that feels true to you.
As an Austin wedding photographer, I’m always drawn to gatherings that prioritize connection, intention, and genuine moments. If you’re planning an intimate wedding or elopement and looking for someone to document it all honestly and artfully, I’d love to connect!
